About the Artist
Usra Attalla (b. 1997, New York) is an art director currently working at Biolumina, an advertising agency in Manhattan. She graduated from Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts in 2019 with a double concentration in Design and Printmaking. Usra creates artwork that is light in nature while exploring topics of culture and displacement, and she actively engages with Muslim communities, supporting initiatives such as a Palestinian family-owned shop in Jerusalem, Yaqoub. She co-founded Muslim Feminists for the Arts at her university, organizing exhibitions that introduce Islam to non-Muslim audiences and challenge stereotypes. Usra often collaborates with her twin sister Sarah, who is also an artist.
